Garosugil actually means “tree-lined street” in Korean, a little under a kilometre long. The streets are adorned with beautiful ginkgo trees along it. In the past Garosugil used to be a place filled with art galleries, then after it became shops, but nowadays Garosugil is brimming with modern stores, cafes, cosmetic shops as well as interior design studios. Popular among Koreans and tourists alike, Garosugil is definitely not one to miss!

Whilst walking down the street there’s a huge variety of coffee shops, with that said all of them have their own individualistic vibe! Some popular ones are the line friends cafe and store, Mr Holmes bakehouse (originated from San Francisco)! With their most popular item for the latter being a Croffin! A Croffin is a cross between a croissant and a muffin. To put it in a simpler way, imagine the shape of a muffin, but when you bite into it there’s the texture of a croissant! In addition to that, they have a huge array of hot and cold drinks, scones and well as regular croissants with varying flavours!

Other than cafes, this tree-lined street is filled with fashion houses as well as cosmetic shops. Home to harder to find brands and shops such as village 11, 3CE, moonshot as well as Jungsaemmool makeup. The last being a brand created by popular makeup artist Jung Saem Mool, she has done makeup for many top Korean celebrities such as boa, Lee Hyori as well as Song Hye Kyo. The shop is definitely a must go, not because of the makeup but the exterior of the shop! Where one would be able to take really aesthetic photos as well as beautiful OOTDs!

The one last thing not to be missed is the clothes shops! With affordable stores such as Around The Corner, Aland and Wonder Place all the way to pricier options such as MCM and Joyrich. Most popular being Around The Corner and Joyrich! The latter is an LA-based brand, with many outlets all over the world. Carrying unique pieces, this brand is loved by many k-pop idols! However the exterior of the shop is stunning, a green wall filled with roses!

Besides the fact that there are a lot of beautiful and aesthetic shops to take photos, the whole of the street is generally a picturesque one, when you visit during a different, expect a diff ambiance and vibe as the ginkgo trees changes it colors every season, from a burnt orangey red in the autumn to a luscious green in the summer. I would definitely recommend Garousgil to all the fashion enthusiasts, cafe hoppers as well as avid photographers! overall i give Garousugil 4 out of 5 kimchis!
